Frequently Asked Questions

Free Trial & Onboarding
How does the 30-day free trial work?

The free trial gives you full access to all API features we offer, capped at 2,000 requests per day. You do not need to provide a credit card to start the trial. When you are ready to purchase a paid plan, you can do so any time during the trial. After 30 days, the trial automatically cancels, and you can choose the right paid plan for your needs if you like.

Will I be charged automatically when the trial ends?

No. Because we do not require a credit card for the trial, there are no surprise charges. If you do not subscribe to a paid plan, your API access will simply be paused at the end of the 30 days.

Can I change my email address when upgrading my free trial to a paid plan?

When upgrading to a paid plan you will by default use the same email address as your user ID. If you prefer to use another one you can simply change your email address on the checkout page.

What is the difference between the Freemium plan and Free Trial?

Freemium is a plan strictly only for non-commercial use e.g. hobbyists, students or research. Freemium includes point forecasts and air quality data, other features are available through paid plans only. Freemium is offered on a best-effort basis i.e. without SLA or support.

The 30 day free trial is a great option to test Foreca’s paid API plans without committing to a purchase yet. Free trial comes with all API features enabled and includes up to 2000 API requests per day.

Both Freemium and Free trial are available without registering a credit card when creating an account.

Usage Limits & Overages
What happens if I exceed my subscription’s monthly API request limit?

You have full control over this during checkout. By default overage billing is enabled and any API calls exceeding your subscription monthly quota are billed at 0.09 € per 1,000 requests so your service is never interrupted. Alternatively during the checkout process, you can choose a “hard-stop” by removing the overages, meaning your API access will be temporarily disabled until the next billing cycle. You can change the overage setting also later via My API and manage the subscription menu.

What is a "QPS limit"?

QPS stands for Queries Per Second. It is the maximum number of concurrent API calls you can make in a single second. If you exceed this limit, our API will return an HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) error. Higher tier plans offer higher QPS limits.

Where can I track my API usage?

You can monitor your real-time API usage, request counts, and overages at any time by logging into Foreca My API Customer Portal.
